Strategy, Concept, Art Direction
Objective: To develop an engaging, interactive High Impact Display Ad that promotes the BGE ENERGY STAR® Certified New Homes Program and educates consumers about its role in encouraging the construction of high-quality, energy-efficient homes designed to meet rigorous standards and deliver long-term savings.
Solution: Inspired by popular building-style games like The Sims, Gardenscapes, and Minecraft, this interactive ad invites players to construct their own energy-efficient home by choosing products and upgrades across key categories such as insulation, windows, water heaters, and lighting. The experience begins with the framing of a house and as players progress, they’re presented with two options for each category, one that is energy-efficient and one that is less so. With each selection, the home continues to take shape. At the end, when the home is complete, players receive a personalized summary that reveals how their choices impacted the overall efficiency of the finished home.
By gamifying the BGE ENERGY STAR® Certified New Homes Program, the result is an engaging, scroll-stopping experience that educates, entertain, and encourages prospective homeowners to consider energy efficiency from the ground up.
BGE Maze 2 Save
Concept, Strategy, Art Direction
Objective: To develop an engaging, interactive High Impact Display Ad that promotes and educates consumers about the BGE Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program (HPwES), a home energy auditing service that offers personalized recommendations and upgrades to improve comfort, efficiency, and savings.
Solution: To promote the BGE HPwES program the experience was transformed into a Pac-Man–style mobile game, tapping into the 8-bit nostalgia of Gen X homeowners, the program’s target audience.
Players navigate a retro-inspired maze, racing against the clock to collect energy-saving upgrade icons scattered throughout the board. Once the game ends, they’re invited to schedule a home energy audit and learn how they can receive an average of $3,000 in rebates for the same upgrades collected during gameplay—bridging nostalgic fun with real-world savings.
